Before you start
Prepare the right information
- Use the registrar where the domain was purchased, not an individual DNS-record editor.
Workflow
Complete the task step by step
- 1
Open the registrar account and select the school's root domain.
- 2
Find Nameservers, DNS servers, or Custom nameservers.
- 3
Replace the current values with ns1.softwarefordrivingschool.com and ns2.softwarefordrivingschool.com.
- 4
Save the change without adding https, a slash, an IP address, or a third nameserver.
- 5
Return to Custom domain and check the connection after propagation begins.
Expected result
What success looks like
The updating nameservers at the registrar workflow is configured or understood, and the user knows the next dashboard step.
Public website impactNothing changes on the public website until an authorized user saves or publishes a setting that is designed to be public.
Troubleshooting
Common problems to check
- Adding ns1 and ns2 as ordinary A, CNAME, or TXT records does not delegate the domain.
- Registrar propagation may take from several minutes to longer depending on the registry and prior TTL values.
